Mr. Archacha Smith ataced that the boy would be calling him at about 5:00PM and requested that Investigating officers be in his offico at 207 Balter Building. officers contacted Ar. and Nrs. Landry and they agroed to prepured the statement after conculting with city attorney Kuller and Itt. August Lang, acting commandor of the Juvenile Bureau. officers went to the Landry residence and picked up Mr. Landry, who immediately drove to havo the statement notorized. A copy of this statement is attached to this report. At 5:20PM, Investigating officers arrived at Mr. Arcacha Smith 9s office in the Balter Bilding. ME. Smith stated that he had not heard from A1 Tandry as you, but was expecting his call. officera showed Smith a copy of the statement and he nodded his epproval, Ar. Dmith expresse his concerned again about what would happen to the Cantain of the boy was retarned. it proxicately 6:25PM, the boy telephone the office while officers were sitting in the office. officers heard Mr. Smith call him Al and Mr. Smith told Al to come to the office, that no (Bmith) W33 alone. Al Landry arrived in the office abont 20 minutos after the phone call. Ho to make a statement agninst Devid Ferrie and at times alternand became very angry and arrogent when Capt Forrie was discussed. He stated that he liked Cape Fercie, In the presance of Invostigating officers, he told his parents that he was going to malse a charge against them. He returned to liew Orleans after about 5 or 6 days and vent to ses Capt Ferrier lie stated that ha spent Monday and Tuesday August 14th end 15th with Oppt Fercio and then hitch hikked to Nousson Texas, where he stayed for another week. Ne stated that when he WS3 in Now Orleans, with Gapt Ferrie, after coming back from Missicsippi, he visited the office of Mr. Arcacha Smith in the company of Capt Ferrio.
