He replied, \"I'm working, and\nhe had an unmistakable feminine manner about him when he replied.\nHe commented that I had gone about my work in a strange way (not\nasking his permission for the photograph) and asked where I was\nstaying. I told him I was staying with Dr. Maxfield, a man who is\na\nsmall clinic owner in Dallas along with his brother, very close\nfriends with all the right-wing leaders of the Dallas community\n(according to Mary) and also, strangely enought the pround possessors\nof an autographed picture of President Johnson. I had stayed at\nthe Statler the week before in Dallasa The Drs. Maxfield had made\nthe reservation for me and had lent me a camera. They had also\nspent some time talking to me in their clinic. All this is becausé\nthey are acquainted with my father and his work. They usually ent-\nertain my father when he has to make a business trip to Dallas.\nSo my story to General Walker would stand up if he checked.\nAfter he talked to us he said that he wasn't sure of my\nrights meaning that I was standing on his land (the alley) and\nI said I was sorry as I left. I thanked him anyway. The bastard.\nFrom the end of the alley where it met the street I took a picture\nof him standing there. The three of us then went down to the corner\nwhere ourtrented car was waiting. We got in rather quickly (we never\nran) and began to pull away when Walker turned out of the alley and\ndown the sidewalk. All he wanted was the license number which he\ndefinitely got. I snapped one more picture of him as we\npulled\naway.\nHe didn't see me take this one. we immediately returned the car,\nMary said that there was no danger in the incident because she\nwould call the girl (one of the two people at the meeting? and she,\nin turn, would call Walker corroborating my good rightist background\nand my intentions to find the truth out about Oswald's Communist\nfriends. I am sure Mary has done this.\nI wanted you to take this into consideration for the future.\nThere is definitely more photographic work to be done in Dallas as\nI will soon describe. And if you wish me to pursue this infiltration\nin the small group of right wing investigators I will. My established\n\"cover\" will work for me I believe, but that is something you can\njudge much better than I. Maybe I have gotten a little too close.\n1\nIf you do agree that you should assign a man to this Dallas post\nother than Boxley who is well knownboy these people as one of \"Garri-\nson's men\" then I would be glad to do what I can. As I said I think\nGary could do a thoroughly competent job on this also. I do believe\nthis type of liason would be an immeasurable plus for the investi-\ngation.\nThe rest of my findings in Dallas:\n2) I took pictures from the roof of the Dallas County\nRecords Bldg. (film and stills). I took pictures from\nthe second floor of the Dal-Tex Bldg. and from the\nSeventh floor of the Dal-Tex Bldg. I took pictures\nfrom the third floor of the Texas School Book Depository"
