At about 2:40 P.M. this date, February 2lst, I
received a telephone call through the switchboard from the
above-mentioned subject.
The subject asked whether or not the rifle used
in the assassination of President Kennedy had as yet been
intrudiced in the courtroom as evidence. The subject also asked
if Perry Russo had testified yet, whether or not Clay Shaw was
in the courtroom at this time, and what time Shaw would be leav-
ing the courtroom on this date. Detective Ward advised Mr.
Costejo he would have to check on the above questions and contact
him later if advised to do so. The subject then stated he was
in a telephone booth in Los Angeles and would not be there in
just a few minutes.
During the entire conversation the subject spoke
in a manner indicating that he was out of breath.
Prior to ending the conversation, the subject
again questioned as to what time Clay Shaw would be leaving the
courtroom, this date. He was very insistent on learning what
time Clay! Shaw would be leaving the Court Building.
That was about the extent of the conversation.
