TELECON Mr. Kissinger/Ambassador Dobrynin 1:11 p.m., October 28, 1971 K: Anatoliy, how are you? D: Fine, thank you. How are you? When did you get back? K: Tuesday night. I'm trying to get adjusted to the time change. D: I understand. It's difficult. K: I plan to see you early next week. D: Next week? K: To continue the discussion we had just before I left. If you want to meet before then on my trip, perhaps we can do it Saturday morning. D: What o'clock? K: 10:00? D: 10:00. At the usual? K: The usual. Two other things: (1) On the Stans visit, I am going to tell Stans to get in touch with you to work it out. On our side, it is all set. He will have generous instructions. D: I didn't know how to handle it. K: I should have been more explicit before I left. But it is all set. Either you call him or he can call you. D: Then maybe I will call him tomorrow -- either by visit or by telephone -- to be moving. K: He knows that the technicalities of the visit will be handled between him and you. D: Tomorrow I will call with the understanding that he knows.
