TELCON Amb. Rabin/Kissinger early morning 1/20/72 K: I was going to call you because we have worked out the airplane thing. R: I got a telephone call from Joe Sisco and told me it is possible to tackle the F-4. K: I talked to Laird and I want to check with you once more. They say they are doing more in '73 because of a special adjustment. R: First started in Oct. 1972. They will get it out of the line in June 1972. K: I want to be sure you still want as much in 1972. R: Two per month every month in '72. I think we should talk in the next couple of days. The problem is stuck with Joe Sisco until we finish the political paper. Can something be done there? K: About what? R: About the fact of delays. K: They expect to deliver the first to you in Feb. R: All right. K: Let us handle it in our complicated way. I just saw Laird on this subject after we talked yesterday. You will have the first in Feb. R: I think on the political issue it is demand for prior agreement that's xxxxx stuck. K: You know what the intention is. We should talk. Let's aim for tomorrow.
