K: I was talking to McCloskey and Anderson here and they say
they never issued a statement about Syrian establishment of diplomatic
relations yesterday.
S: Well, where did it come from?
K: Well, they said nothing like this was done fromthe State Department
Press office. Now we're checking around whether one of the bureaus
may have, NEA may have done it on its own.
S: Well, I'll be darn. Well, let me find out what
K: And I didn't see it in any newspaper.
S: Let me find out what happened. It was-my recollection is that
K: Look, the only guidance I gave is was the one Ziegler heard
S: Oh, no, no question about it
K: XXto McCloskey in thema ning, and then it turned out there
was no briefing yesterday, and they didn't issue anything.
S: Well, the work I got was that there was no briefing yesterday, SO
they handed out this statement, but let me find out.
K:
