FEB 2 7 1973
THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
February 26, 1973
ADMINISTRATIVELY CONFIDENTIAL
MEMORANDUM FOR:
MR. JOHN EHRLICHMAN
FROM:
BRUCE KEHRLI
SUBJECT:
Dairy Price Support and Cheese Imports
Attached is the background information on the Dairy Price Support
and Cheese Imports decision.
As you can see, it indicates that the President chose Option 2 of
the Stein memo and this was the decision that I transmitted to
Herb Stein, George Shultz and Secretary Butz.
Today, however, I received a call from Secretary Butz and Bill
Morrill of OMB, both of whom said that you had indicated that the
President had chosen Option 3.
Obviously, there is some confusion on this issue and, although I
reiterated the point that Option 2 had been chosen to Secretary Butz
and Morrill, I promised that I would get back to them after checking
with you.
Would you please advise.
Bruce:
Option II - is from Butz
musunderstood He's
