MR. PRES IDENT: THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN Re New York Dinner Bunny Lasker wanted me to let you know that Dan Lufkin and Louis Marx, Jr. have both given $50, 000 for this dinner -- they will be sitting at the "Presidential Table." Leon Hess also gave $50,000 -- he will not be at the dinner but he is the oil man who has been a Democrat -- he believes in what the President is doing and he is going to back him financially. (Bunny and I are going to talk about getting him in on some business -type meeting or something like that). Aside from Louis Marx -- the family have given something like 35 or 40, 000. David Marx gave $25,000 -- and he is the one who also supplies toys at Christmas and got the theatre tickets when you were in New York, etc. etc. John Mulcahy has given $25, 000 and has helped get others to give. Don Regan (Merrill, Lynch) and AI Gordon have great selling tickets for Bunny. Governor and Mrs. Rockefeller will be at the President's table. Bunny thought you should know that Governor Meskill and Governor Cahill will both be there - speaking after you have gone. Governor Cahill is returning from Europe two days early because as he said "he would not miss a dinner that is called a "Salute to the President." And
