Re New York Dinner
Bunny Lasker wanted me to let you know that Dan
Lufkin and Louis Marx, Jr. have both given $50, 000 for this
dinner -- they will be sitting at the "Presidential Table."
Leon Hess also gave $50,000 -- he will not be at the
dinner but he is the oil man who has been a Democrat -- he
believes in what the President is doing and he is going to back
him financially. (Bunny and I are going to talk about getting
him in on some business -type meeting or something like that).
Aside from Louis Marx -- the family have given something
like 35 or 40, 000. David Marx gave $25,000 -- and he is the one
who also supplies toys at Christmas and got the theatre tickets
when you were in New York, etc. etc.
John Mulcahy has given $25, 000 and has helped get
others to give.
Don Regan (Merrill, Lynch) and AI Gordon have great
selling tickets for Bunny.
Governor and Mrs. Rockefeller will be at the President's
table.
Bunny thought you should know that Governor Meskill
and Governor Cahill will both be there - speaking after you have
gone. Governor Cahill is returning from Europe two days early
because as he said "he would not miss a dinner that is called a
"Salute to the President."
