BACKGROUND
The Veterans of Foreign Wars is holding its annual dinner, which is the
culmination of its five-day Conference. In attendance will be approximately
2500 people including 95 seated at a two-tier head table (list of head table
guests attached at Tab A). Dress for the head table is black tie.
You last attended this annual function in 1970 at which time you presented
the VFW Congressional Award to Senator Henry Jackson. The 1972 recipient
of this Award is Congressman Thomas "Doc" Morgan (D-Pa.).
The program prior to your arrival will include the Nat ional Anthem,
Invocation, introduction of 53 Voice of Democracy State and National
Winners who will be seated at the lower tier of the head table, and
remarks by VFW Commander Joseph Vicites.
SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
8:35 p.m.
Depart White House via motorcade en route
Sheraton Park Hotel.
8:45 p.m.
Arrive Calvert Street entrance of hotel.
You take the elevator up to the level of the
Sheraton Ballroom and proceed to the entrance
to Sheraton Hall. At the entrance to the Hall
you will be greeted by VFW Commander Joseph Vicites.
