PURPOSE
To brief bipartisan congressional leaders' group on the
Arab-Israel war.
II.
BACKGROUND, PARTICIPANTS AND PRESS PLAN
A.
Background:
1. The regular GOP Congressional Leadership meeting
was cancelled this week because of the outbreak of
hostilities in the Near East.
2. Bipartisan leaders traditionally expect to be briefed
soon after international crises occur. There have been
many inquiries for information on the Arab-Israel war.
B. Participants:
1. Guests are listed in Tab A.
2. Secretary Kissinger will brief on the military and
diplomatic situations.
C. Press Plan:
1. Press Office will announce the meeting.
2. Ollie Atkins photo only.
