THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON DROP BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS CONVENTION Thursday, November 15, 1973 11:00 a. m. Sheraton Park Hotel THE PRESIDENT: BACKGROUND The 1973 Convention of the National Association of Realtors has been running since Saturday, November 10th, and concludes on Thursday, November 15th. During the course of their activities this week they have had addresses from such governmental spokesmen as Vice President-designate Ford, Roy Ash, Sec. James Lynn and, on Thursday, Under Sec. John Whitaker. On Sunday there were approximately 12, 000 people (including spouses) attending this Convention. Approximately 35% of the attendees are women, a significant figure since there are SO many women in the realty profession. Approximately 85% of the members of the Association of Realtors are registered Republicans and, based on their comments and reactions to Administration speakers this week, they are virtually all avid supporters of President Nixon. Following John Whitaker's remarks Thursday morning, the group will go into a business session at approximately 10:00 a.m. It is expected that there will be approximately 2500 people in attendance, the great majority of the Convention attendees having departed the city. You are scheduled to deliver brief remarks to this group at 11:00 m., half way through the business meeting. Since this is the last general session and you are the last outside speaker, you will be delivering the concluding address to the Convention. Just prior to your arrival there will have been a break in the activities and the Marine Band will provide a musical interlude.
