NBC Sun. noted Syrian Israeli gen'ls reported "considerable
progress" from talks to work out technical details for
separating forces on Golan Heights.
NBC Sat. led
(CBS #2) w/ emotional receptions in Tel Aviv, Damascus
in 1st exchange of wounded POWs. Particularly dramatic
film on both nets of Syrian officer sitting erect on stretcher,
rendering hand salute, despite loss of both legs. NBC said
careful preparations in Damascus were a "swept away" by
jubilance,, but both nets noted the brave Syrian officer
declared that legs mean nothing, we are "still ready to give
our souls. 11
