April 5th, 1928. Dr. S. C. Lind, Director, University of Minnesota, School of Chemistry, Minn. Dear Dr. Lind: Your letter of March 31st, outlining in a general way your reaction to the Drinker report, is at hand, and we wish to thank you for same. Our program for the defense in these cases is beginning to take material form, as a day for a continuance of the hearing has been set for April 25th to 27th, inclusive. Unless it is the pleasure of the Judge to postpone the date we expect to go ahead and present our case at that time. In discussing your position with our attorneys yesterday they feel that a conference with you on April 24th at two (2) P.M. would be beneficial in ascertaining more definitely your position with regard to this matter together with what value you might be to us as a witness. Inasmuch as you plan on being in New York about this date we trust that you can arrange your program to give us this time. It is understood that we expect to pay for your time and any aliquot part of your expenses you deem advisable. In order that we may proceed more definitely with our program for conferences, etc., we would appreciate your advising us as to whether it will be possible for you to arrange to be here at 2 P.M. April 24th. With kind regards, I am Sincerely yours, Vice President. HHBarker :RH
