Subject: weekly on Native American Economic Development Access Center
Native American Economic Development - Creation of an Access Center. Following up
on your New Markets tour and the Native American Economic Development Conference one
year ago, the DPC has begun work to create a Native American Economic Development
Access Center, located at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. This Access Center would operate
through a single toll-free number that will connect Native American callers and businesses to
14 agencies' programs. Currently, agencies have their own toll-free numbers, putting burdens
on the public to know where in the federal government to call. This Access Center is planned
to be operational by early next year.
