I.
PURPOSE
To discuss ways to improve the quality and quantity of children's programming. You
announced in Glendale, California in June that you would invite leaders of the television
networks and the nation's pre-eminent children's programming developers to come to the
White House before the end of July. With approval of the three-hour rule, the availability
of quality children's programming will become more important.
You and the Vice President had a successful meeting with media leaders in February
which resulted in the industry's agreement to develop a ratings system that will be
compatible with the v-chip.
