John Sie is also the founder of WAM!, a children's TV channel and\nsubsidiary of EMC. In 1982 Sie was awarded the Robert H. Beisswenger Memorial Award\n(Vanguard Associates Award) by the National Cable Television Association (NCTA). In 1986\nhe was honored with the Grand Tam Award from the Cable Administration and Marketing\nSociety. Sie is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Cable\nProgramming, the NCTA's Satellite Network Committee, and Honorary Chair of Cable Positive.\nSteyer, James-\nJames Steyer is the founder and CEO of JP Kids, a new multiple-media venture striving\nto serve the educational and pro-social needs of children. Currently, JP Kids is focusing its\nefforts on television programming and multiple media for kids.\nThomas, Elizabeth-\nElizabeth Thoman is Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Media Literacy.\nValenti, Jack-\nJack Valenti is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Motion Picture Association\nof America. Prior to his involvement with the MPAA, Valenti had a successful career in\nadvertising and was a Special Assistant in the Johnson Administration. Mr. Valenti has written\nseveral books and was awarded the Legion D'Honeur by the French Government.\nVanderwerff, Whitney-\nWhitney Vanderwerff joined the National Alliance for Non-Violent Programming in\n1993 and currently serves as its executive director. The Alliance is a non-profit network of\nnational women's organizations created solely to provide community options to address media\nviolence. She not only develops and implements the Alliance's programs in broad-based\ncommunity coalitions, but she delivers presentations and conducts hands-on programs focusing\non media literacy as violence prevention.\n10"
