Dear Mr. Tierney:
I received your request that Mrs. Clinton write a foreward, preface, or quote for the CD jacket
and booklet for Eleanor - An American Love Story. Although Mrs. Clinton enjoyed your
musical very much, unfortunately she must decline your kind invitation. Her schedule this year
does not permit her to take on additional obligations of this sort, even for such a worthy project
as this one. In addition, White House policy prohibits her from providing commercial
endorsements, so even a quote would not be permitted.
Best of luck with the release of your album.
Sincerely,
Shirley Sagawa

Dear Mrs. Clinton,
It was an honor to have the opportunity to meet you at the Mother's Day
performance of my musical ELEANOR - An American Love Story at the Ford's Theatre
- and I continue to appreciate your enthusiasm for the show.
I remember that you expressed an interest in being the first to receive the
original cast CD should one be recorded, and I'm happy to report that the music and
Ford's cast have been recorded, and we are aiming for completion of the album by
November.
We're now in the process of designing the art for the CD jacket and
booklet, and were wondering if you would consider contributing a forward, preface or
quote that we could use in the pages of the album booklet. We think it would make a
wonderful addition to the album if agreeable to you.
Thank you for your consideration of this request, and 1 look forward to
your thoughts. My best regards.
Sincerely,
Thomas Tierney
