Dear Maggie,
Thank you so much for calling me yesterday. It was so nice to hear your voice again.
After our conversation / took a look at my calendar and wondered if Mrs. Clinton
might consider either Wednesday, June 19th, Thursday June 20th, or Friday, June
21st for our Friends of Art and Preservation in Embassies event.
We very much appreciate all your efforts on our behalf.
Warmly,

Former NJ Governor Tom Kean Endorses Lamar Alexander for President
Joins "Alexander's Band" as National Co-Chair and Chairman of NJ Campaign
CHERRY HILL, NJ - Republican presidential candidate Lamar Alexander scored a key endorsement in
the delegate-rich northeast today as former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean announced he is joining the
Alexander campaign as a national co-chair, and chairman of the New Jersey campaign effort. Kean joined
Alexander at press conferences in Cherry Hill and Newark, New Jersey.
"During the 1980's, Tom Kean was one of the most respected governors in the nation, and I am
delighted to have his support and advice," said Alexander. "He and I both believe we must restore
America's freedom by taking responsibility back from Washington, D.C. and returning it to states
and local communities. As New Jersey's Chief Executive, Tom demonstrated to the nation how
dynamic Republican leadership at the state level can bring about real change and reform. With
Tom's energy and leadership, I am confident that our New Jersey team will be the strongest of all
the presidential hopefuls."
Alexander said Governor Kean's leadership would prove valuable in helping steer his campaign
both nationally and in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York metropolitan areas. Kean joins
another prominent New Jersey GOP leader on the Alexander Team. Larry Bathgate, a former
chairman of the Republican National Committee's Finance Committee who served as Jack Kemp's
national finance chairman, signed on with Alexander as a national finance co-chair earlier this year.
"I am pleased to be on board Lamar's campaign," said Kean. "The campaign message - economic
growth, moving decisions out of Washington, D.C., and restoring our sense of personal
responsibility - - resonates deeply with GOP grassroots officials and activists. Combined with
Lamar's very successful fund-raising efforts, this campaign will offer voters in New Jersey and the
Northeast a clear choice."
The Alexander campaign has raised more than $6 million so far, and will raise between $7 and 9
