Dear Ms. Williams:
I wanted to let you know how very proud I am of you.
Senator D'Amato's hearings have become a source of entertainment (or maybe it's irritation)
for me. As I watch you sit there time and time again, very calmly and with so much dignity,
and put up with the stupid nonsense and abuse heaped on you by these ridiculous old
senators, I have to salute you.
I don't know how you do it! I'm sure if Faircloth called me a "liar", I would either jump up
and hit him over the head or worse yet, start crying. I'm sure your character and strength
are some of the reasons you are the First Lady's Chief of Staff. She is very lucky to have
you and I'm sure she knows it.
Don't ever let those ridiculous old fools "get to you". Just keep on infuriating them - you
have so much more character than they will ever have and there are millions of us cheering
you on.
