Dear Melanne:
To update you on the Atlanta show, which is getting more and more exciting, the
trustees there are most hopeful that preferably both the President and Mrs. C., but in any
case the First Lady, might attend the black tie preview dinner on Tuesday, June 25. (There
is also a second preview for a larger group, but also black tie, the next night, Wednesday the
26th, if the 25th were impossible. There is also a reception that our corporate sponsor
Equifax is giving on Thursday the 27th.)
I know that she felt that the public opening on July 4 would probably be complicated
by virtue of the demands on everyone's time around that holiday, and therefore I am
wondering if we could begin to get our bid in for the previous week. (You will remember
that I wrote you on January 10, and sent you some materials on the show. We would be
happy to provide some more if it were useful.)
Do let me know what formal steps one should take. I would dearly love both you and
Hillary to experience this exhibition, which is quite unprecedented.
