The FEB Board explained the funding problems that all 28 Boards are having, and asked the VP to stabilize funding and staffing. The Vice President asked me to seek your help in solving the problem and report back to him on this issue, as well as several others the Board raised. The Boards are doing great work all over the country- earthquake recovery in Los Angeles, Olympic Planning in Atlanta, the PMC's U.S. General Store in Houston, relief for survivors following the Oklahoma City bombing, and many others. The cost for the whole country is piddling - - 56 FTEs governmentwide plus space, equipment and travel. I've reviewed the plan put together by the PMC working group (OPM, NPR, OMB, DoD, DVA, SSA, and GSA) . This plan does what the VP asked. I urge you to support it at the June PMC (unfortunately I'll be on vacation cruising the Turkish Riviera) and fund it thereafter.
