Sir,
the answers to my in quines
respecting the trade in silver coin and bullion,
which have been kindly procesed through your
the Department of State, from the Deputy
Governor of the Bank of England are highly
satisfactory and important; and I should he
glas to have my thanks conveyed to him, by any
fit opportunity
My position as Director of the mint
naturally disposed me to keep an eye upon the
state of our our metallic currency and especially
to match any threatened desangement of the
balance between gold and silver. Sterao with
reference to this subject that my inquiries were pro.
posed and they appear to be sufficiently answered;
but I may avail myself of m Hankey's polite
offer, to obtain other information
very respe stully
