Source Description
Handwritten copy of a resolution of the Governor and Assembly of the State of Connecticut remitting a fine levied upon Justus Miles of New Milford for signing "a treasonable writing...to act...in concert with the British army." Miles was convicted of this offense in February 1781. Certified as a true copy of record by George Wyllys. On reverse is a receipt dated at Hartford, 27 May 1788, and signed by Sherman Boardman, acknowledging a note for sixty pounds, the amount refunded to Miles.
