Source Description
Handwritten journal, without cover, kept by Hazen while surveying the Maine seacoast from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to the St. Croix River, the border of Maine with New Brunswick, Canada. Richard Hazen Jr. was born in Haverhill, Mass. July 20, 1696, and died near Bradford, Mass., ca February 8, 1754. He graduated from Harvard College in 1717 and married in Newbury, Mass. on October 22, 1719 to Sarah Clement.
