Source Description
United States Department of the Interior Geological Survey. Topographic survey of Lakeville surrounding Assawompset Pond, Long Pond, and Great Quittacas Pond. Map is annotated with information on electric or telephone lines around Long Pond. Handwritten note dated 11/26/1958 accompanying map reads "To Mr. Hubbard, Re: our lines in Lakeville, We extended into this town on Middleboro Rd (Lakeside Aver) side of Long Pond in 1916 to serve the Bay State St. Railway Carbarn with 13.2 KV and this line has since been removed in relocation of our distribution circuits to J.O. line across road. We have a petition plan of this extension but no Town Order. A copy of it should be on file in Town Clerk's records, I know of no correspondence bearing on this extension. I talked with Mr. Cole and he has a wealth of recollection in the matter but does not remember much about correspondence. The accompanying plan shows the years our various projects were done. W Fox"
