Source Description
W. H. Bidwell, the proprietor of the New York Evangelist, writes to Amos A. Phelps that he wishes he could attend the Boston anniversaries but unable to, because of the increased workload at the Evangelist due to Bradford's illness. After reporting on Rev. N. E. Johnson's probable ruin, Bidwell asks when he will get another letter from Phelps's London associate and more letters from Phelps on Boston matters. On a postscript note, Bidwell says the missing $50 (discussed in previous letters) turned out to have been taken by a clerk in Wall Street who absconded.
