Frederick Douglass describes a difficult visit to the “H--” family. He says that Jesse H.’s “warm and friendly manner ... induced in [Douglass himself], a pang of regret for the course of action [he] had seen fit to pursue toward [Jesse H].” He then talks about his success in Belfast as well as future plans.
