Letter from John Bishop Estlin, Bristol, to Samuel May, February 13th, 1846
Estlin tells May, "I sincerely lament that 'The Liberator' is not conducted more in unison with our views of the desirable characteristics of such a paper." He also objects to an article in the January 16 issue of the journal that he finds to be indelicate. Estlin tells May that he has completed a rough draft of his short statement of abolition aims, titled, "A Brief Notice of American Slavery and the Abolition Movement."
