        "Anne W. Weston finds the letters from Henry G. and Maria W. Chapman encouraging, but regrets that \"Henry continues low spirited.\" Anne has somewhat changed her mind about going to New York, as she has heard that one could come and go for $5. At the quarterly meeting (of the Female Anti-Slavery Society), sundry resolutions were passed. Charles L. Resmond could not come, being at the trial of Dr. Amos Farnsworth in Lowell. Dr. Farnsworth called; he was \"full of toubles\" and running all over town in quest of a lawyer. He thinks he will lose and \"fall a martyr in the Cause.\" Anne enumerates the calls she made. Mrs. Henry Chapman is mending fast. \"There is a great deal of sudden sickness & death. Nobody can tell the causes or the cure.\""
