"Anne W. Weston tells about Henry G. and Maria W. Chapman's return (from Haiti). Henry looks ill, but does not seem like a sick man. They will probably start housekeeping in Roxbury. Hervey and Warren Weston came down last night. Warren, who has an \"approbatatory\" letter from Mr. (Joshua) Bates, will go to Havana by and by. Anne asks Deborah to send the money for the carpet and discusses domestic affairs. \"I still think that we shall keep Anny [Chapman]. Two children will be as much as they can manage...\" As Henry G. Chapman seems so much better than she expected, Anne will go to New York. She reports on the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society's meeting, which was \"rather a slender affair...The two Balls [Martha V. and Lucy] came.\""
