Source Description

Large ornamental plates in this Valencian style became so renowned that personalized examples were ordered not only by Spanish patrons, but also by others in Italy and France. The heraldry and name displayed on this plate suggest that it might commemorate the wedding in 1437 of Marie de Bourbon and Jean, Duke of Calabria.
