Ink Pot (lid)

Intended for use on the writing table, this is the lid to an ink pot that was used with a dip pen or quill. It may have belonged to a professional scribe or scholar, or perhaps to a wealthy layperson. The leather is embellished by tooling, embossing (pressing), and punching.
