observationProse
The image depicts four boys playing outside in a grassy area, all in a crouched position as if preparing to play a game, possibly football. The boy in the foreground is kneeling on the ground and appears to be holding a football. He has light-colored hair and is wearing a short-sleeved shirt. Another boy is positioned behind him, also on his knees, wearing a cap and a long-sleeved shirt. The boy at the back appears to be a bit older and is slightly hunched over. The fourth boy, also with a cap, is crouching alongside the first boy. In the background, there is a rustic house with a porch and several trees casting shadows, indicating it's daytime. The overall atmosphere seems playful and youthful, with the boys engaged in a game. The image has a vintage quality, likely from the early 20th century, suggested by the boys' clothing styles and the appearance of the house.

Location: This photograph was taken at the second acreage west of the McKibben Bridge. My dad and his brother and parents lived there at one time, perhaps shortly before their move to South Dakota. People: George France (1906-196?), Leonard Curtis (1912-1989, with ball), Melford France (1908-197?), and Marvin Curtis (1909-197?). Activity: The boys are playing football during an apparent family gathering. Note the carriage and the automobile parked in the right background (see also photo no. 16).
