Source Description
The grimacing face drawn into a grimace, with broad mouth, snub nose, and deep furrows across the forehead indicate that the figure is an actor. He wears the clothing of an enslaved person, consisting of a short tunic tied over one shoulder and a broad belt circling his exaggeratedly twisted lower torso. Individuals who were enslaved often appeared as characters in Roman comedy, as they had did in Greek theater.
