Source Description

This miniature is in a elaborate gold frame, enamelled and set with brilliants. On the back is a monogram (a double "L") in gold. The portrait may be after a detail of a full-length oil painting of the King by Antoine-François Callet (1741–1823) at Versailles. In this painting the king wears a similar ermine robe and flowing lace cravat.
