Kozuka with a Carp Leaping a Waterfall
Incised lines on the kozuka depict the rush of a waterfall. A carp is shown swimming up the waterfall. This motif represents perseverance. The inscription on the reverse says that the design is by Ichiguro Masatsune (1760-1828).
