Horse and Rider

late 7th-first half 6th century BCE (Orientalizing-Archaic)

5.1 cm 7.6 cm 10.3 cm

Citation

This very simple, roughly formed group of a horse and rider bears the remains of stripes of red glaze. While the rider may be meant to represent a human, the type is so rough and abstract that some of the riders are identified as bears or monkeys.
