Source Description
This vase, a pair with Walters 44.688, depicts multicolored doves on flowering apricot branches against a midnight-blue ground. Borders at the base and neck are geometric patterns inspired by Japanese textiles. The mounts and cloisons are silver. There is a mottled shakudo and gold surface inside the neck and on the bottom.
