Source Description

This oviform vase has a "bleu de roi" ground, and is richly decorated with garlands of leaves in gold. It has a tall fluted neck and golden handles with rings and festoons. On the front is a painted scene with a group of peasants, and the reverse with a brightly-colored bird chasing a butterfly surrounded by flowers. There are several similar vases in the Royal Collection in England.
