Source Description

Nine different forms of fish and sea creatures are illustrated on this tsuba. All are regularly consumed as part of the Japanese diet. On the front, a spiny lobster is at the lower right. Proceeding around in a clockwise direction are a flounder, a puffer fish, a second flounder, and a sea bream. On the reverse are a snapper, an octopus, an eel, and a flounder.
