    "description": "Scenes of the Virgin and Child (left) and the Crucifixion (right) are framed by crisp, architectural gables ornamented with pierced, three-lobed rosettes.  The delicacy of the carving has led scholars to attribute this diptych to the Berlin Master, who worked in Cologne but whose most famous ivory triptych is now in Berlin.  The Berlin Master's figures are characterized by a gentle, S-curved sway, elegant drapery, and serene expressions.",
