At the right side of the kozuka, seated in a chair, is the god of good fortune Jurôjin. He has an elongated head and is holding a scroll in his hand. Jurôjin is associated with academic success. The background of the kozuka has a fish egg pattern ("nanako-ji"). A gold textile pattern in on the reverse.
