Ring Engraved with Eros

3rd century CE 5/8 in. (1.59 cm) (max. inner diam.) Citation Source image

The gold ring has an elliptical hoop, broadening at the shoulders, and a flat-topped oval bezel. Represented in intaglio on the bezel within an engraved circle is the figure of Eros holding a ball, one leg on a rock. A length of wire is coiled on the hoop.
