Source Description

A standard (hexagonal) black and gold lacquer four compartment inro. A standing badger in front of autumn grasses looking at a full moon on one side of the inro. On the other side a stream and a continuation of the autumm grasses from the other side. The design in "takamakie" in gold and black lacquer, "togidashi" for flowers and stream. The badger in brown lacquer. The background in "roiro" with sections of "mura nashiji." Inscribed on the bottom of the lower case in gold. The interior in "nashiji" and "fundame." The cord channels are external. Together with a carved wood netsuke of a cluster of eggplants. Inscribed (Shurai) on the bottom of one of the eggplants.
