Kozuka with a Kingfisher on Reeds

19th century (Edo-Meiji) 3 3/4 in. (9.6 cm) (l.) Citation Source image

This kozuka is unusual because it is made of wood and elaborately polychromed. At the lower left, stylized lines indicate water. Just above the water is a kingfisher perched on reeds. The reeds extend through the right side of the composition.
