Citation Source image

Blossoming plum and narcissus wrap around this circular iron tsuba, in an example of a design defined by the form of the tsuba. The pistils are highlighted in gold enamel. This piece seems to be done in the Old Nara (ko-Nara) style which featured natural motifs in iron.
