Source Description
A landscape with a gnarled tree in the foreground has been executed in plique-à-jour enamel in various blues, mauves, browns, green, and grayish green. The yellow sky and the pink clouds suggest that it is a scene at sunset. What is most remarkable feature of this enamel is the manner in which the gold filigree is sparingly used both to enclose the fields of colored enamel as well as to constitute a design element in itself.
