Source Description

The interior of the kovsh is divided into ten arched fields. Within these, there are symmetrical floral designs in blue, green, white, and foil-backed red over pale blue and burgundy red backgrounds. In the center of the kovsh, a white circle encloses an exotic, long-necked bird in green, burgundy, and yellow champlevé enamel. On the kovsh's exterior, ten arches enclose palmette motifs in the same colors as those appearing in its interior. The horizontal handle is decorated with symmetrical foliate motifs in green, light blue, white and translucent red over a burgundy ground.
