Source Description
French cartel clock in the rococo style with a porcelain dial and cast case. The clock is topped with a figure of Diana holding a bird; she is accompanied by a hunting dog. A floral stem decorates the right side of the piece. At the bottom is a chinoiserie-style figure with a parasol. The dial bears the name of the clockmaker Abraham Gilbert, who worked in Paris on the Place Dauphine from ca. 1745 to ca. 1750.
