Have a tailor measure you according to the enclosed measurement blank that is enclosed with this letter. Return this promptly, giving us your indoor uniform and hat size and also the address to which you wish them sent. Sign and return to us promptly all receipts that accompany each package of uniforms. Please check when you receive your uniforms for - 6 white uniforms with short sleeves, detachable belt and buttons, emblem on left sleeve (American Red Cross - Nursing); street uniforas - Red Cross Pin on each shoulder of short coat, two A.R.C. pins on the collar of short and top- coat, emblem on left sleeve of each coat midway between shoubder and elbow (American Red Cross - Harvard Unit) Clamp your bronzé A.R.C. pins so that they do not become unhooked and lost. It is felt that nurses living out of New York City or Boston will have to stay in New York for about three days before Bailing in order to have their uniforms fitted and finished, the expense to be reimbursed by the Red Cross. We have decided to wear white shirt blouses with a black four-inphand tie to be supplied by the nurse. Boys! shirts are very suitable, but a blouse with a convertible oliar serves a double purpose - takes the tie well and can be left open in summer. Three with long sleeves are required. If have any with short sleeves, bring them along. If you have a steamer you rug, you will rind it very sueful and it can be strapped to the outside of your luggage. A good suggestion is to have some kind of purse and or container that can be attached to your person to carry your money passport. inclosed you will find rules and regulations for obtaining passports. You will note from these regulations that you should present yourself before a clerk of your local U. s. listrict Court, unless an Agent of the Department of State is located near you.
